Tide Strategy
Tide significantly affects conditions at Ramp 34. High tide brings deeper water and more powerful, defined wave faces. Low tide exposes sandbars and creates different break patterns β sometimes better, sometimes more sectiony and difficult. Many experienced riders prefer mid-tide as the sweet spot. Always check tide charts before your session and be prepared for conditions to change.
Launch & Landing Protocol
Observe from the beach for at least 15β20 minutes before launching. Study the wave patterns, identify the shore break rhythm, and find the timing windows between sets. Launch during a confirmed lull β not a hoped-for one. Land with the same deliberate timing. Bigger conditions mean longer set intervals and more consequence for mistiming. When in doubt, watch another session. The ocean is not going anywhere.
Sharing the Lineup
You will share Ramp 34 with accomplished surfers who have earned their place here. Do not drop in on waves riders are already committed to. Give priority to those deeper in the lineup. Show through your actions that you belong. The kiteboarding community’s continued access to spots like this depends entirely on riders who demonstrate competence and courtesy. Prove it every session.
